I don't mind rain, but it doesn't need to be a downpour

I agree Bj but sometimes that's just the way it is. I love when the farmers get the needed rain.

We had our first hurricane since moving here on FL's Gulf coast. We were just sideswiped with the outer rain/wind bands as it moved through last night and there's still some going through this morning. Overall, very fortunate.

We had more rain two days before with storms forming ahead of the hurricane. Friends were here to visit and we took them to dinner at a beachside restaurant. Rather than the usual beautiful, gold and turquoise sunset over a serene Gulf as a backdrop, we had pounding surf and torrential downpours as we sat on a covered veranda for outside dining. No thunder or lightening, we stayed dry and it was enjoyed by all and will make for good memories, remember that time......

The weather reporting is excellent here along with state and county alerts to stay on top of things. The immense power of these storms with wind and water is humbling and I have great respect for them.

In the 60's today in Asheville. 40 percent chance of rain. Our coastline will take a lot of rain. Glad the storm wasn't worse for Florida.

Savannah is getting much needed rain, thanks to Hermine. Fortunately, the velocity has lessened, so we are only getting much needed moisture and a break from the oppressive heat.

Just talked to friend that retired to Florida 3 years ago and is moving back next week. That's 4 that will have returned from FL and 4 have returned from AZ.

Many reasons are given but generally: All the hype that "one must move after retirement" and the need for something different doesn't turn out as expected. It's not always greener; some old dogs just can't or don't want to learn new tricks.

Very interesting. Most are glad they at least tried it.

Well it's Labor Day Weekend and I have to work!

Grrrrr.

It's possible one year from now I'll be retired.

My target retirement days: Dec. 31, 2017 (most likely), June 1, 2017 (second most likely), and June 1, 2018 (possible).
