Stayed up way too late last night watching the finale of Last Tango in Halifax on PBS.
Oh, what a cast of characters! You dislike them, then you like them, they make you laugh, then they make you cry. I use my closed-captioning because of the thick accents!

One line stuck with me. "I'm just disappointedly human like all the rest."

"Childhood sweethearts Alan [played by Derek Jacobi] and Celia, both widowed and in their 70s, fall for each other all over again when they are reunited on the internet after nearly 60 years."

I was really upset with the finale.
It was one of those ... Noooooo, it can't end that way!
Went web searching for more info.
Found out there will be a Season 2.
"Alan and Celia continue to negotiate family baggage to plan a life together."
I'm happy again.
Now I just have to wait, LOL

And yes, I wanted to talk about something besides the weather!

Last Tango in Halifax is wonderful!! I watched it but it was quite a while back and had almost forgotten to look for another season of it. I loved it when they were locked in that old castle overnight. I love all of it because the people are like real people (and anyway my dad's family originally came from 'alifax.)

Somebody on here is going to hate me because it turns out I'm going to Maine! brrrr on Tuesday if it doesn't snow. A long drive but it is to visit someone.

Got to look for the next season of Last Tango--so glad you mentioned it.
June 29th, found it.

Yeah I had watched the first 3 hours in 2012 (?), then went out of town to a place with no PBS. Never saw the remaining episodes. Love Derek Jacobi's character!

You sold me - just signed up for it at the library.

Old people are suppose to talk about the weather.

My son's in the hospital with pneumonia. Poor guy can't catch a break. I'm going to pay a visit sometime tomorrow or Tuesday. He wasn't feeling up to visitors today. He should be home either Weds or Friday.

Hey BJW - Sounds like you can't catch a break either. Make sure he takes good care of himself. Sending good wishes.

So sorry to hear it.

Pneumonia can be serious ... hoping he makes a speedy and full recovery!

He lives with his long time girlfriend. She does the best she can. She can't be with him 24/7 or make him do things.
