We could celebrate the advent of warm weather by having a C-D Retirement Forum posters' outing to a nudist camp. (See the "Throwing Caution to the Wind" thread).
Those of us not yet retired (but getting close) could bring our own lists of "best places to retire"!
For what I have spent on my teeth over the years, I could have had a helluva sparkly tiara! And yes, I would much prefer it to having to deal with dental issues, lol. :-)

But I'm sure you would NOT prefer it to having rotten and unsightly teeth! LOL I had two implants before even turning 70; in my mind that sort of stuff belongs to the "over 70" world. Likewise I was placed on a prescription medication before turning 70, at age 61 I believe. I felt like a total freak.
I should be grateful, actually, that things are not worse.

Placed on a prescription medication? But hasn't everyone been on a prescription at one time or another? You don't have to tell; I'm just curious. Don't worry about the implants. I had one at age 66 and from reading on the dental forum, people are getting them at younger than that. I know one guy who got an entire mouthful of implants at about age 50!!! Never took care of his teeth and he was really lucky that his mother was a millionaire.
The two folks in the middle are the true images of old people. Plese note that elderly jaw compression from lack of choppers. Your fellow posters most resemble these two, not the three on the left or the two on the right. Now, look into the mirror and be honest in your appraisal. Could you really hope to compete in a "cute" contest with the little fellow who's second from the right?

I remember that cartoon VERY well. Cartoonist Al Capp was a very clever man who loved to make fun of human foibles through his depiction of those hillbilly characters. I still remember one play on words:
A powerful and arrogant character (could it have been General Bullmoose?) is informed by his secretary, "Sir, Mr. Dewey, Mr. Nixon, and Mr. Truman are waiting to see you." He answers, "I am too busy to see every Tom, Dick, or Harry."
It's funny how that childhood memory is still with me.
Funny how we had one just a week or so ago, and now tonight was a longer-lasting one. Fortunately no damage from either one. Last time I didn't even leave my townhouse, as I knew it was small enough that there would be no damage. This time was a little stronger (where I live, mind you, not necessarily the Richter number) so just to be sure I walked the townhouse complex (no damage) and then dropped by the local fire station to see if they needed volunteers, which they didn't, just as I suspected. (I was trained by our local fire department as a CERT (community emergency response team) volunteer and if we have a big one we are supposed to check our own dwelling/immediate surroundings, then report to the headquarters fire station).
I wouldn't imagine the two quakes were related, as the epicenters were about 50 miles apart.

It's all over our radio out here. Bigger than the last one but other than some power outages, not much damage by the sounds of it. Glad to hear all is okay where you are. Maybe the earth got its shakes out and it can settle down for a while now.
Yes we woke to the news today too. It just gets scary when one hears things like not if but when. I hope our SoCal friends are ok though I'm sure they're used to these. I'm curious to know how anyone knows when it's safe to go outside after a hit.
