Believe me I've considered it. I am out and about daily and it wouldn't take many tickets (???$75 - $100) to add up to that. Edina has an abundance of police - I wouldn't get far.
Umbria, don't they refund if you turn in the plates early?
I gagged at reupping DH's registration due at month end; 92 buckaroos for two years. I do believe they prorate it by months and refund you what you don't use. Yes, believe it or not, even in merciless cash strapped New York state.

I know DH won't let me, but I want to take a Sharpie to my plates when we leave and write under the words New York at the top of the license plate-in the same font s it looks original and not graffiti-Sucks We're Leaving.

I may have gotten away with that 20 years ago but not now. I could say I was just out in the CA desert and got clunked on the head by a shower of large hail and am having memory problems. Except then they'd just call me senile and take my license away.
