But you did it!

HUGE storm along the New England coast last night has left hundreds of thousands without power, expected to be without power for days. Trees crashed onto roofs, lots of damage. And that is one reason I moved to where I am now. We got rain. My previous town is in emergency mode. I miss it there but feel safer here--pleasant day here and the dog took me on a good little walk.

Being from Michigan and intentionally moving to Texas, "snow" is a 4 letter word to me. No thank you!

I love the snow and cold, it's just that where I live now I only get about 2-3 feet in winter. Not much at all. Sure beats 100 degrees with 90% humidity.

Got home yesterday from a roadtrip. We down to Kansas for my former neighbor memorial. We left on Friday and the service was on Saturday. Thats the joy of retirement. Showed my wife around my hometown. Granted, a lot has changed since I moved away. Caught up with some old friends.

Curmudgeon is alive and well!

He just responded to my direct message of some time ago, as well as to another poster's direct message. I'll let him come on here and share whatever he wants to share.

Thank you for letting us know. After Riverbird, I get worried when long time posters disappear.
So glad to hear Curmudgeon is OK.

Escort, thank you for sharing about Curmudgeon; I too heard from him as I enjoy his Posts.

My DH transitioned to Heaven 5 FIVE years ago, I informed him so can have some empathy. Folks still very understanding of me. " Are you going to move?" was a questioned I was frequently asked, for me that meant "What are you going to do now?" After 41 years of being married (bless I was, as I may have Posted he was disabled for 25 of those precious years), still trying to figure that out ! One Day at a Time, thank the good LORD !

Meo, am not surprised at folks reactions. A few years ago, I took a tour, when to a restaurant by myself and folks were surprised at that ! So happy for you, the move, being a blessing to delighted and her to you !

InNewEngland -- So sorry to hear about the bad storm. Do you have power? Not sure whether yours was out, or if you were speaking about the thousands without. I hope they are able to get it restored soon -- Kudos to all the hard-working linemen/women. All all those working in Puerto Rico, too.

Curmudgeon -- Glad to hear you are alive and well. We miss you.

Sera - Your kind and encouraging words are a treat for all here.

BJW50 I'm glad you were able to get back to your hometown for your neighbor's funeral. And yes, it would be fun to show a mate around your hometown.
