Jim - You need to find a way to get the he$$ out of there. Start adding up the cost to stay vs to move. Send that old GF - the one that got some money and is traveling - a bill for what she took. Threaten court action - get mean.
Thanks everyone. The places I can afford are all NO PETS, I will never give up my dog. Most places where I want to live are from $2000 to $3000 a month. That's more than my retirement. As far as suing the EXGF, it costs $75 to file court papers here, that's money I don't have, and I have no idea where she is now. My fault for trusting in someone, never again.
So, here I am. I'll run out of groceries in a few days, and at 22 miles away, the store is a bit of a walk (no they don't have Uber or grocery deliver here). Sure can't drive with a shattered windshield. Guess it's a good time to start that diet!
Amazon? When I lived in Minnesota and the snow was too much or my car wasn't operational I ordered things from Amazon. I was a prime member at the time though and the grocery section was open to prime members. I'm not sure how it works now as I stopped prime when they upped their price. Anyone know?
Kroger and Target deliver by mail. They have a deal of free shipping and 15% off on your first order. I ordered canned goods I won't use them without a deal but I'm sure there are others out there.
Meo, I don't have prime now but they offer me a free trial now and then. Their groceries are high but I could use them in a pinch. Other sites have better deals. I sometimes order dog food from Chewy.
Jim will be okay but I wish him an easier life like the rest of you
I ran out of groceries this winter for the first time since moving to my mountain home. Truck was down and it was scary. I won't let it happen again.
Where I lived in Minnesota, it was 9 miles from a real town and our small town had/has a population of 200 (well, 199 now, lol). I was thankful to have Amazon available when we had bad snowstorms and the time my car wasn't running for awhile. I didn't even think of other places that might deliver.
Ordered some MRE's will be here tomorrow. Those will last until the 1st when I get my retirement check and can get the windshield replaced. I have plenty of dog food too, so he won't go hungry.
Is it my imagination or has this forum gotten grumpier?
