This is a tv show about those older and mainly retired, but who have done great things in their later years. The show is very inspiring, and I am amazed at what people have accomplished. It is on my local station and hosted by our local people here in Central FL, but not everyone on it from my area. I was wondering if the show is like a "franchise" and is really all over the USA? Has anyone else heard of it/seen it by chance???

Don't know about the TV show, but your thread title reminded me of someone with an outstanding mind and an excellent grasp of complex issues at an older age - Secretary of War (which we would now call Secretary of Defense) Henry L. Stimson who served in that capacity from 1940 to 1945 under Presidents Roosevelt and Truman and who was 73 to 78 years old during his tenure. He was highly respected and highly principled and he made an excellent team with General George Marshall and with the two presidents under whom he served. In my opinion he is an outstanding example of a public servant in the truest sense of that word, and I just hope my mind will be half as good if I should live to be 73 years old.

Methinks the man doth protest too much! From what I can see by your posts, I do not forsee your mind "halving" at any time down the road.

Smile Channel?

Sounds like a show that would be more positive than those on there now.

I'm in South Florida and I don't know about this one.

Don't want to be bold. Spent enough of my working years in the public eye (television, radio, print media, speaking engagements, testimony before the legislature, etc.). Now that I'm retired I have absolutely no desire to "do great things" but live my life out quietly and comfortably.

I greatly admire those who continue on to make a positive difference. I just don't want to be one of them.
