My wife signed me up for AARP about 4 years ago. I don't know why.
I got some much mail from them and mailers from insurance companies I dropped my membership after the first year.
I have since requested that they remove my name from their mailing lists and was told that would happen but it has not.
So, from now on when I get a piece of mail from AARP or one of their vendors with AARPs name on it I use that postage paid envelope and send back whatever came in it with my own little personal message!
Let them pay the postage both ways for nothing.
Maybe the well get the message, maybe not.
Has anyone ever got off their lists?
I did I called them. However everytime you change your address you are fair game for them again. Other businesses may sell them your info and the fine print in some of them may make you liable for anything aarp wants to send
When we moved we thought we were through with them, but I will assume they send stuff address correction requested as it never stopped. At the point where we moved I had not been a member for two years.
I hope they and their vendors that buy the addresses like my personal messages.
3 unopened envelopes today went right into the recycling bin
I have been doing that for a few years now. When we move to lose mails like this we did not leave a forwarding on purpose.
Many just do the address correction bit with the USPS and keep track of you. I certainly don't understand why.
We get 2-6 pieces of mail a week from AARP and those they provided our address to.
I have no idea how they know our current address when I did not leave a forwarding.
Most of the mailings I get, at least the ones I bothered to open, want me to renew my membership after some 5 years or are trying to sell insurance or something else.
I will agree with that.
I just opened a few to find out who else AARP sold my address too.
I cannot believe the variety.
