I turn 62 this month and was told my first SS payment would be in February 2018.

We shall see.

I turned 62 in November. Applied in September. Received awards letter indicating approval and first deposit in January 2018 (for December).

I see that they recently they sent a "pre deposit" ACH account verification to my bank.

Fingers crossed for a continued smooth process.

When you filed when did you say you wanted payments to start? You normally say when you apply when you want payments to start. Did you give them all your bank information? they do not send checks anymore they make direct deposits, also when you get paid will depend on your birthday. People are paid on a Wednesday each month always the same one, based on your birth date.
