Why not ask your older relatives about these things now, before they are gone?! Someday these things might be important to you - as I learned the hard way.

Listen carefully to your elders. Ask questions. Be an amateur historian and try to reconstruct their lives. You will learn things about yourself through this exercise. It will bring you closer to your parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents. You will learn where you came from.
This.

Too late by the time I was 20. I wish I'd been told at 18 that going to college was a much better option that getting pregnant and getting married. I might have listened depending on who told me. I was very naive...okay, stupid.

I wish someone had talked to me about using my looks and personality to become a high priced call girl. If only I had know the money to be had! No amount of university or hard work could have equaled it.

I have to think going independent takes a very strong, smart woman, who should be able to make it in the business world using their body and wits to climb the ladder. Come to think of it , there is not a whole lot of difference ether way. , we prostitute ourselves every day and often get little to show for it. I think the high class call girls have a better deal, they get their money now, no waiting !

Live beneath your means but within your needs. Avoid credit/debt like a plague unless it is for a house/car or similar. Never finance anything if you can save and buy it outright. You can't spend unless you can save and saving will help you to budget correctly. Always pay your rent/mortgage, utilities and other bills. Put up an aerial if possible and get free TV. Put away 10% or more of your gross pay every pay period. It is easier if you have a 401K and direct deposit. You never see that money so you never miss it. Adjust the income tax withholding from your paycheck so you get more per pay period rather than getting a big tax return. The IRS doesn't pay dividends for holding your money while you can invest/save during the year.

I wish my mom had kept her faith and me in church. I've been flying blind for years and need it now.

I wish someone had told me that life wasn't fair.

I wish someone had told me how badly I would miss my parents and need to be closer to them as time went by.

I'm glad Kenny Chesney wrote 'Don't Blink' and Five for Fighting wrote "One Hundred Years"

One Hundred Years sent me looking/listening. Nice song. Two of the age related message songs I like are Franks Sinatra's It Was a Very Good Year and Willie Nelson's These Are the Good Times.

Much of it because my life has been a good and relative easy one especially after age 25.
