Women alone, AZ winters where would you go in summer?

I realize this is a loooong drive from Arizona but the condos at ski resorts in New England mostly sit empty all summer. They all tend to have golf at reasonable prices and host various weekly events to try to bring people in. A 2 or 3 month rental can be very inexpensive with the rates quite negotiable. The owner is paying all the utilities and condo fees. A 30+ day rental in Vermont also avoids the 9% lodging tax.
A lot of people sunbird up to Prescott or Payson Arizona from Phoenix in the summer to escape the heat. Some just stick around and swim and enjoy the lack of chill in the air.
I am confused too. Are you talking about living in Arizona during the winter and then finding some place to go in the summer to escape the heat?
Utah State is always recruiting senior citizens who wish to become "reverse snowbirds" from Memorial Day to Labor Day. They have very affordable rents ($800+ a month) and a great number of activities (academic, recreational, etch) that are available for a relative small fee.
We will probably do that for a month in the summer of 2016.
Just curious, PinkElephant, where'd you go for 3 years? Has anything changed? I'm still pretty much stuck with the same questions, no answers, as to where to go, too. I love the winter in AZ, summer in RV idea a few posts back.
Not having any idea what your current life is like, your health or whether you have any savings makes a reasonable response difficult, but...
I wouldn't rent an apartment. I'd buy a smallish used RV. Winters in AZ would be heaven, summers I could go anywhere I liked. I like the Workamping idea: You take on a part-time or full-time seasonal job and get a free campsite with utilities and wages as well.
I met a woman who was working at a Eugene company but she'd come from back East, near Boston. I commented that Oregon must be a big change for her. She said, "On the east coast if you drive two hours you're in another major city. Here, if you drive two hours you're in Roseburg." I grew up in Oregon. My idea of hell would be having to live there.
Don't we all, though. Don't we all.
Flagstaff or Prescott are cooler and quite safe. Check if you're eligible for Section 8 Housing.
st giving my opinion regarding affordable summer residency. I have a membership in a private camping community in western Washington. We have security, activities, two pools, youth center, adult community center etc. The quarterly dues come to an average of $100.00. We have many snow birds, many from Arizona and they love it here. Just an idea.
