Correct,he didnt become a slave if he had a plan, made sure he had the means and did what he had to do to survive.

What he didnt do as his only plan is just complain about
slavery.

I think most of us here are advocating mindful, aware, and intelligent adaptation to circumstances, not mindless adaptation. That may be a minor quibble, however. We can see from numerous posts of yours that adaptation, whether mindless or otherwise, is not on your agenda; it is far better to whine, complain, lament, and rant than to discuss how to cope and adapt. And one or two rants to make a point will absolutely not suffice; they have to be repeated ad nauseum, long after the point has been made.

Seriously, you should write a book on your views. I know for a fact that there is an audience. I would title the book "In Defense of Slave Traders: I New View". Trust me, it will sell.

Not to mention ad infinitum!

We are all here to try to help each other. We all offer ideas, strategys, and thoughts to help us all plan and have a better retirement.

Complaining and complaining is helping no one. We all got your message hundreds of posts ago.

To keep repeating the same political agenda over and over is helping no one least of all yourself.

Tell us how to get better through this mess and navagate these uncharted times. Thats what makes things better for us. We need to play the cards we are dealt, not complain about the dealer who shuffled the deck.

Rich this is for you and the many you speak for. I will be guilty of cross posting but the lyrics of this song are appropriate for many in many places.
ANYWAY LYRICS - MARTINA MCBRIDE

Quote:
You can spend your whole life buildin'
Somethin' from nothin'
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

You can chase a dream
That seems so out of reach
And you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

This world's gone crazy and it's hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today
Believe it anyway

Storms can be created by nature or financial nightmares but the message is the same if you want it to be.

Exactly ,build it anyway . Many of us managed to stay one step a head by building it anyway.

Even if its partially damaged in the storm it can still act as a shelter which is better than nothing even if damaged.

The goal of some of us here is to learn to build it so it withstands not only the worst to date but to anticipate what might be even a worse storm.

Even if damaged in the worst of storms it should still function and carry us through.

The sharing of ideas and knowledge about dealing with these storms is what we want to know.

Complaining about these storms does nothing for any of us.

Despite the storms we have constructed things that have stood up to everything thrown at us so not building things for fear they will be destroyed is not the answer.

Learning to build them to weather and stand up to bigger storms is the answer.

Here is the complete quote. Obama was referring to roads, infrastructures, teachers, etc.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business—you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.[7]"

"That" was referring to roads, bridges, and learning.

Give it up, Rich. Totally open to interpretation, and I'm not fond of partisan pandering from anyone. Besides, I can actually read, hear, comprehend and make up my own mind.
