Looking through the thread I had to add Soupy Sales, Ding Dong School, and Webster Webfoot. Not to mention Shock Theater on Friday nights. I used to sneak up to watch that one.
And the memories continue to proliferate and bubble to the surface! Webster was the duck I mentioned in my previous post whose name I couldn't remember at the time.

In 1952 my father, a career Marine, was transferred from North Carolina to California and we visited military friends on Lido Isle in Newport Beach. Their son was my age and we'd been friends in both China and NC. I was six at the time. I walked into their den where he was, took one look and came running back to my parents screaming in glee that they had a movie in their house. It was the first television I had ever seen and Crusader Rabbit was playing.

A month later my parents bought a home, also on Lido, and later that year we got our own TV. Jimmy Weldon and Webster Webfoot was one of my favorite shows. As it turned out, Jimmy was a close friend of our next door neighbors who invited us over when Jimmy was visiting them. I walked in and was thrilled to meet not only "Uncle" Jimmy but even more so, Webster Webfoot whom he'd thoughtfully brought with him (our neighbors also had children at and around my age). Webster and I had a nice conversation. Yet another thrill for a little boy

Thanks for the memories!

Very original. I don't imagine I was the only young boy who watched her walk around with a skin tight, black cat outfit, complete with long eyelashes, and whiskers, and a tail that she would arrange every time she sat down. My step-sister won a contest to come to her show for a birthday party, and I thought that was the coolest thing there was.
Wow, Kitirik sure tops what we had in Hawaii - "Checkers & Pogo" - 2 dudes doing kind of a Skipper and Gilligan thing. I guess the ***** Galore is always greener...

I do have fond if fuzzy memories of C&P and sat in the studio audience a few times. It's kinda
nice to see the bits and clips scattered about the internet.

We lived in NYC until I was 11 and I remember enjoying Soupy Sales & Sonny Fox's "Wonderama" My family moved to the Philly suburbs and by that time I was past the kiddie shows but I do remember seeing & hearing about Sally Starr.

I grew up watching "Sally Starr" host "Popeye Theater," on WFIL Channel 6 out of Philadelphia. She was on every afternoon - a sexy 40-something cowgirl who showed Popeye cartoons and The Three Stooges. We'd be outside playing until someone's mom would come out on the porch and yell, "It's 4:00!" We'd all stampede inside to watch Our Gal Sal (or Aunt Sally) on the black and white set. Sally Starr passed away last month at the age of 90. RIP, Aunt Sally. Love, luck and lollipops, and smoocheroonies.

Another favorite was Gene London, who hosted "Cartoon Corners General Store" on WCAU Channel 10. "Come right on in to the general store...we've got licorice, gum drops, sourballs...anything that you're hankering for...you'll find in Cartoon Corners General Store."

Anybody else have any memories of Philly shows, Aunt Sally, Gene London (or Pixanne, Happy the Clown, etc.)? Tell us about the shows you grew up with in YOUR area!
Now that I think about it, I recall a show on Sunday morning that probably was locally produced in Philly. It was called "Bertie the Bunyip", and featured some characters called Fussie and Gussie and a fox too.

Also, as I think about it, there was a show featuring a former radio DJ, the Wee Willie Webber Show, featuring a character called "Mr Pix of Channel 6".
