I've had it for years, as did my dad and my son. I solved the problem pretty much by going to be very late, like 12:00 or 12:30. They I generally will sleep till about 7 or so. But its not unusual at all for me to have to get up in the middle of the night and watch TV for an hour or two and then I can generally go back to bed for a couple of hours. But like this morning, after going to bed at 12:45, I still woke at 6:30. I just don't stress it. I feel fine, I just don't need that much sleep.
All I have to do is start reading anything after 11 p.m. and I'm out like a light. No insomnia, I take melatonin supplement, a natural sleep aid that works for me really well. Sometimes but rarely I wake up around 5:00 and go online, but rarely post before 8:00.
I'm in Japan for another ten days or so, so I'm a day ahead of all of you in the US (actually 13 to 16 hours, but on the other side of the international dateline.) As I post this, it's 8:00 am on Friday here and 4:00 pm on Thursday on the West coast and 7:00 pm on the East coast.
You might say I'm keeping an eye on tomorrow for you. Just looked outside: sunny and nice! But everyone's driving on the wrong side of the road and speaking Japanese!
I was born a night owl. I can't change it even when I am forced to be on a "day" schedule I just suffer through it and always fluctuate back to being awake at night. I think it's an internal clock thing. Or maybe I'm part vampire?
Besides being a night person at heart, I work third shift and when there's nothing to do on a quiet night, I post on C-D. Then again, I'm not retired, but oh, do I think about it.
