I saw this article and thought I'd pass it on for those who didn't see it. I think it has some pretty good advice on whether its time for retirement. I have most of the signs they mentioned, which is why retirement is still in the future.
Nice article. Thanks for sharing and sending that our way. I know I am not quite there but I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I did get good news this weekend in that I am retained for another 2 years. That means only one more 2 year period and I am right on track. The time will be perfect unless I get another short term full time job I will max out where I am and so with that walk off into the sunset.
"Some signs of retirees who don't have a place to go or something to do: They're the ones driving 20 mph below the speed limit, talking your ear off in line at the grocery store or cleaning their garage twice a day.
The article contains the B.S. scare thing about health care expenses. I quote: "Add premiums and co-pays that can exceed $25,000 a year...."
It would take a damn unusual set of circumstances to reach that amount if one qualifies for Medicare. What is the purpose of those scare tactics?
Bankrate.Com is a financial planning, financial resource, banking site. It is to help you plan and manage your financial life. It has a lot of helpful features and calculators and companies advertising who would love to help you with your money.
Car loan, mortgage and any other monthly loan payment can take up a big chunk of your expenses which would have to be budgeted into your retirement spending.

What I got out of that part of the article was to plan for health care, just think about it. Some people don't, and have trouble.
I liked the article, but with this context: I am the expert on my retirement, not some article or expert from afar.
