We took a little trip up to WA to explore some areas. We loved Seattle and the whole Urban flavor. They are doing a lot of in-fill projects with lofts and condominiums and the prices vary from the $200's to $300's and upward.
Tacoma is also an interesting city and we enjoyed staying there. Lots of art. The downtown seems to die on the weekends, which surprised us a little. The restauants were fantastic. The Olympia area has a fantastic little farmer's market that has some of the best produce I have seen. Ocean Shores was a little to bland for us, but has some very affordable ocean properties. I think if I had to live someplace without a car, it would be Seattle and or Tacoma downtown.
