I permit myself about 2 drinks per week ... sometimes a cocktail during a happy hour with friends, and a glass of wine with dinner on another night. Sometimes I go 3 or 4 weeks without even 1 drink. When on vacation I might have a drink every day.

My limit is strictly 1 drink in a day ... because of an abdominal surgery I had 3 years ago I cannot "hold" liquor very well, and anything more than one standard size drink causes me to get tipsy. Besides I am usually the designated driver.

I'll drink sparkling wine, if it's the cheap stuff ($9-10/bottle). I also really enjoy champagne, but, again, I dont like the taste of anything expensive.

And I've never been known to turn down a margarita or two (or three, especially when I'm playing poker).

Actually I know why it bothers their conscience that I don't drink. They realize they shouldn't be drinking either.
Why shouldn't they be drinking?

There is not a single Bible passage to even imply that alcohol [in moderation] is wrong.

I grew-up Baptist to. I got over it, when I read the Bible.

Why to go. Completely change the topic.

From drinking, over to being a drunkard.

Smooth move there.

How about if we go back to simple drinking, and leave the over drinking out of it.

Oh, I rather doubt it. I drink and she doesn't. And from her posts, somehow I think that would be a huge problem.

I never have a drink of my own, but might take a drink of my husband's beer on a hot day. He drinks only occasionally and never more than one beer.

Late Baby Boomers, a beer when going out to get pizza, maybe once a month. Spouse has one glass of wine with dinner.

Do not drink. It's poison to the body! A waste of time and money...my personal opinion mind you!
