20's Studied hard but partied hard
30's Career oriented & always on the road
40's Career, nice house, found a guy who loved me
50's Career, house needs work, depressed at losing loved ones, tired
60's 2 years to go - Retirement, travel, & more time to do the things I want to do
20's - Put dreams aside; having to help parents financially; worked up to 3 jobs at a time; got out for some disco dancing; did get married; started a business; had a child (that was the happiest)
30's - Had another child (son) - another happy moment; moved into a neighborhood I thought I'd never find; family events; business successful; active in volunteer organizations - super happy years
40's - Family; some loss; sold business; went into different one; still volunteering - pretty happy years
50's - Family illness (parents - Alzheimers), business - still self employed; issues pushed our life timeline back - child graduating from college; one still in college; working hard to get to where we should be
60's - Hopefully years to look forward to - we will have to still work but want to have some FUN
20's - sex, marriage, move to Colorado
30's - I'm a DAD!!!
40's - happily a single DAD
50's - sex, hiking, biking, skiing, boating & sex
60's - so far the same as 50's!
For my husband and I:
20s: out of college, married, got jobs, bought a home, had 2 kids.
30s: Both kept on working, raised kids
40s: working, paid off house, headed kids to college
50s: kids done with college, paid off house, retired
60s: kids gone, bills paid. Having fun!
** This is not entirely accurate as I lost both husband and child. While there is a word ("widow") for a person who loses a spouse, there is no single word for a mother who loses her child. This is egregious. Additionally, I would like to take this moment to remind people not to drink (or use drugs) and drive. You are not only risking your own life, but you are risking the lives of every innocent person on the road with you and causing immense unending sorrow to those who survive their loss.
