I can understand the depression of aging but not that age makes someone ugly. Ugly is not old nor is being young always beautiful. A lack of caring for yourself at a younger age by drinking excessive amounts of alcohol, smoking, stayng in the sun too much without protection, and bad diet all can certainly make you age faster and look worse than your peers.
If you did that to yourself, you may look dramatically different from your peers. I don't know what else to say other than you could become worse off with plastic sugery done wrong.
Speaking if swimsuits, I really wish someone would make a tank style suit with a skirt to hide the worst of the hips/thighs with bike shorts style legs that went to the knees. Kind of like those 1900s suits. Frankly no one, not even I want to look at my upper legs. Gravity is unkind to curves.
Also I want to add that some aging people wish they didn't become handicapped from an unfortunate accident due to old age or catch a chronic disease ( super bacteria and others). Those are far worse than aging looks.
I look in the mirror as I shave, and think, "not bad Davey boy for 61........." Then, I put on my reading glasses, and catch a glance by accident in a mirror. Not quite as good as I thought......... Fading eyesight has it's advantages........

True. These are definitely more trivial concerns but women (more than men) tend to have these concerns and unfortunately for aging females in this society which adulates the young and firm, we are daily confronted with our invisibility or fading from sight and devaluation in society in a general way. I don't mind so much, being invisible for years but I would like the ability to go to a pool or beach without scaring the children and the like.....

I have not aged well either. Besides the weight gain which i could do something about my face has really drooped. I don't have wrinkles but my mouth droops down and I look REALLY MEAN. Which I'm not. But it has made it hard to connect with people which is a problem. I feel like people don't even want to give getting to know me a chance. Its hard, no ways to cope that I know of.
Thanks for that link old_cold. I'm loving that longer swim skirt with shorts. I'll be checking that out.
