Self driving sounds fine, it is the self crashing I am worried about.

This would be wonderful for my daily commute, I could kick back, read a newspaper or take a nap. But I would keep a driver car for the times I want to have some fun on the twisty mountain roads. This is the future embrace it, don't planes almost already fly themselves

This would be wonderful for seniors in urban areas! Also Las Vegas in general. People have lots of accidents while staring at all the attractions. They also don't see things like semaphores and pedestrians! A 25mph electric vehicle with a 100mile range would be able to meet my daily needs.

And with all the solar film coming out now it could recharge while parked in the sun!

Underneath its still a car, the additional technology is expensive in the limited numbers it is currently manufactured in, but mass manufacture would tend to make them inexpensive. I think you will find they need less repair on average. Plus self diagnostics should keep the troubleshooting down as well.

Bottom line, I dont expect outrageous repair costs.

Right. Because we see so much of that...

Now get back to driving, and keep your eyes on the road.
