I think I've just about had it with this downsizing thing. Things keep proliferating even as I purge. I'm starting to give myself advice I don't want to hear: bail out and simplify now!! Before I'm too old and decrepit to deal with everything. Just not sure exactly how to simplify my life. That female voice in my head keeps lecturing me. How dare she!!

My guess - It's summer. More visitors at the vacation homes.

Since when does aluminum rust?? That is a diamond plate aluminum mail box. It will, over time DULL, but it should not rust.

That material is used on truck boxes and does well in Florida and other challenging locations.

Those of you looking at LL vs cell choices take a look at Ooma.
Free Home Phone Service | Ooma

We were paying $32/month for a traditional LL before making a single call-plus $.07 minute LD plus $3.99 "LD Access Fee" added if I made a single one minute call that month-and NO caller ID, call waiting or extra services.

Ooma is a VOIP service so you need internet but you only pay taxes and fees so my unlimited service is about $3.50/month. The catch is you have to buy their box ($140 at Costco). I was skeptical at first but it has been fantastic.

We still have cell phones but I find the LL handy to use the desk phone's speaker when calling customer service people with their extended hold times.

My goodness, how easily senior threads go off-topic. Like conversations in a nursing home.
