I did another purge of the clothes closet yesterday.
Only one shirt yelled "Don't send me away" out of about 20 so I put it back til the next purge.
I got rid of all my old nice work clothes and only saved 2 dresses. Clothes I haven't worn in about 2 years yet didn't want to part with them because of "just in case".
Now I have plenty of extra room and decided to hang up my tshirts so they don't have those folded wrinkles on them.
And now that the shirts are out of the drawers I could use a smaller bureau now (eying the IKEA 4 drawer to match my IKEA bed frame).
Just downsized, wish I didn't. I am 55 and the youngest in my senior community. I bought this condo so I would have cash in the bank. Now I have the cash and feel like I am living in a shoe box. I know I should be grateful as I have a place to live but have no debt, but quite frankly, I feel like I am living in a tomb and it stinks.
I wish I would have moved to a less expensive area of Florida and purchased a small single family home...........
We got way more from the auction than we expected.
We are very tired of driving. The original drive and back for looking/purchase. We did the drive to LV in 2 days. And decided that was a bad idea. Second drive and back for closing and hiring a contractor to remodel (All floors, all walls repaired and painted, all doors except the front door, remove a ton of wallpaper border, remove a patio door and replace with a window, add a walk out door to replace the patio door, all baseboard and door trim, etc). A major overhaul.
Drive out to LV after remodel.
Fly home to finish clearing house and pick up her car. Drive to LV. Four day drive this time because of bad weather in the Rockies. Turned south at Denver.
So, yeah, we're tired of driving.
Minimal furniture so far. We have started looking, but no decisions yet.
Our comfort level is increasing. We went through this with the last house so we're not surprised at the initial "uncomfortableness" of this one.
Considering leather, no sectional. Sofa, love seat (or two sofas), and a recliner for me. Dining room table/kitchen table with two leaves or three depending. Entertainment center that covers a large wall - we need more storage.
We saw this brand in Des Moines and really liked it, but the closest dealer is in Colorado Springs.
Ha! A chance to sell the washer and dryer left by the previous owners.
