age 87 - singer Tony Bennett - still gives many concerts and makes lots of personal appearances, besides recording a lot and being a proficient prolific artist who creates paintings

age 76 - singer Jack Jones - still performs all over

age 84 - Charlie Rangel has been a U.S. Representative in congress for decades; there are always many U.S. Senators and U.S. Representative in congress who are in their 70's and 80's.

But do they have a (to quote the OP) "performance at an older age were/are inspiring?

Anyone remember Strom Thurmond at age 100? Pfffft.

Paint with a broad brush much, Gandalara? I'm not saying ALL are good just because they're in their 70's and 80's.

The point is that SOME and a good number are very good such as U.S. Senator Tom Harkin who is 74 and one of the finest U.S. Senators and persons who has ever served. He has served since 1985 and is now retiring.

(if you do not agree with his politics, fine, the example is not to argue politics)

Not arguing. Don't even know what his politics are.
I have never found any politician "inspiring" (to quote the OP), no matter how fine or good or how old or how young they seem to be.

And yes, I've found painting with a broad brush works just fine.

In that case, I am sure you'll be glad to do without all the many taken-for-granted services which the various forms of government provide for you and the other billions of citizens.
