I worked 5 years in one location and 13 in another. For the first year or so I would maybe stop by the old office location once or twice and kept in touch by text with maybe 5 people. That has pretty much fizzled out. I am 2500 miles away from the office. I ran into a former worker that I had met 27 years ago when they were on vacation in Hawaii. It has developed into a friendship where we meet for dinner every year when they come on vacation. She keeps in contact with quite a few people so I hear the deaths, divorces, etc. It is hard for me to even remember the names of people that I spent 13 years with.
hard to say. less than 10 sounds more reasonable than saying most of them. I worked for the same employer for 40 years combined time. Yeah, I have a few people that keep more than just in touch. Some of them I would love to forget after the last 4 years, but.... hard to do that when you have a shared experience.
Zip. But then I'm an introvert. I'd brought treats, donuts, cake, cookies. But meet you at your house? Want to know me better?

My mother had a yearly gathering of all workers in her area of work. Usually 12-15. But as they passed, moved, it ended when her manager passed from throat cancer
That's hard to answer. I never really hung out with people from work to start with. I still see co-workers from time to time at this or that but just like before we really don't hang out.
It's only been a year but currently 4. 2 are in contact more often though and we text on a regular basis.
I moved across the country and one of them now will be moving to a town only about 80 miles from me at the end of next month. So I'll probably see her a few times a year and not just text with her.

Two former co-workers have reached out to me within the past year asking me to do civil/structural engineering designs for their home construction projects at no cost. I told them that I had recently tossed all of my out-of-date code books for such work, a true statement.

Sounds like "they were not my friends" is your choice. Work friends is a pretty loose definition. It is basically people that you know through work. Now it may be that you had the occasional chit-chat or a lunch or even an after work Happy Hour to visiting each others homes and hanging out on a regular basis. I mean real friends have to be met some place.
Curious why these "friends" thought you would do them a favor.
More than ten. I keep in touch with friends I made at my first job, back in the early 1970s. We were all of the same age and starting out together and stayed friends for 50 years - I married one of them. There were other marriages and kids and intermittent drama, sadness and joys. Only one has died. The group has actually grown as other people from that time resurfaced. I moved away but they get together as often as monthly, and I join them when I am in town. I will see them in April. We communicate on Facebook or email. I could appear on their doorstep and be taken in, and I would do the same. I have acquaintances from some later jobs but would not think of them as friends. None at all from my last job.
