You haven't said much about where you're going to roam, while you're being gypsies. Asia, Central America, the U.S.? Just curious since it sounds pretty nice.

I would opt for using one of the rental apts. as your home base, until and unless you find another home base in a more desirable part of the world.

We are leaning in that direction...... have a tenant vacating next month and have decided not to re-let the place and start moving things over so we can stay there while we sell our personal home.

First stops will be in the US while our geriatric dogs are still with us. We won't go out of the country while the dogs are alive because of the quarantine periods for dogs. Loose agenda:

1. San Diego 3-9 months
2. Chicago 3-9 months
3. Philadelphia 3-9 months

Overseas
1. Rotterdam
2. Prague
3 Barcelona

Keeping the rental as a home base might put you on the safe side of domicile laws. If you haven't researched them, you may want to do so before heading out. RV forums are a good place to ask questions.
You must maintain a legal "residence" somewhere. States sometimes get cranky about taxes, car registration, etc., when you live in one for more than 6 months.

Thanks, and I know these links will be great for others!

We are not RV people and my lifespan would be very short with my road rage husband behind the wheel! We don't have the proper temperament for the RV lifestyle.

So, Squirl, you're just going to travel, no driving yourselves?
