Absolutely. Abject and callous self-centered disregard for others seems to be in vogue, these days.
So - With with your degrees, and your self-asserted high ground, you whine relentlessly in a retirement forum.
The time you spend - and the relentlessness with which you attack - people who have been lucky; have fallen beneath the radar of malicious agents; and have led drama-free lives with their noses to the grindstone leads me to believe you were downsized during the recent carnage. Which has led to an obsessive "sour grapes" outlook on those of us who are able to sustain ourselves.
What was the straw that broke the camel's back? Mom throw you out of the basement? Another rejection from the temp agency? SSDI throw out our application? Can't find a willing baby-mamma?
Your high-handed platitudes do nothing other than to call attention to your own sorry predicament. Corporate structures of whatever variety don't cotton to resentful preachers.
Do us all a favor. Re-allocate the time you normally spend in lecturing and high-handed assertions of moral superiority. Instead, consider standing before the bathroom mirror, reassuring yourself about your stance. You'd feel a lot better. And we'd be relieved of the burden of reading through your spewed venom. A more efficient use of time for all.
We run in different circles then in the old vs. new money crowd.
I work among the "old affluent," having served them for many years. I write private foundation grant proposals for their nonprofits and missions. It is an interesting demographic, out of the realm of "working people" even though they do work.

The cavalier disparagement of the less fortunate and most vulnerable in society by folks who should have grown some consideration for others and compassion but instead spend their time rationalizing self interest and rationalizing the dehumanization of people they simply don't care about.
Well these folks do not live in the US but because they are US citizens they have to pay US income taxes on global income. The US is not happy with just domestic earnings..they want to tax all earnings from anywhere in the world.
So as long as an American citizen lives anywhere in the world, he's subject to US tax on any taxable earnings, then?
But if he gives up his US citizenship, he's no longer subject to these taxes, I'd imagine.

IMO it's just as easy to ignore the self-indulgent blatherings of this poster. It's not as though you'll miss anything when you do so, LOL.

I laughed out loud at your second sentence, which is so true. Can you imagine the reaction of people being harangued non-stop about their moral inferiority? Or perhaps poster bUU has found a small group of like-minded people who get together and congratulate each other on how morally superior they are and practice their sneering at everybody who does not agree with them?

There are areas and groups where much of what he advocates is a core value. They can be a natural resting place for morality and ideology. He is a soldier and evangelist for his beliefs agreed with or not. Most here don't but in his element he can get an Amen.
