I have added pictures of quartz we looked at in the blog.
Love both the granite & the quartz. Maybe the quartz just a tad better - it is suppose to be easier to care. Depends on how much difference there is in price.
Tek.....just posted to the blog. I really like the Berwyn as it allows the beauty of the wood come through.
We used Giallo Blanco, which is now called Giallo Ornamental. Has a lot of warmth in it including some garnets. Paired it with medium stained oak cabinets and they work well.
I love seeing what everybody chooses! We have had several people say how they really liked our paint colors, made me feel good.

It was Mayflower. They were recommended to us by our RE agent and we dealt with the owner of the franchise directly. He spent a lot of time telling us how they do the moves for museums, etc. and they would be so careful. What a load of hogwash. Good thing I don't plan on moving again as I would never get DH to agree to use movers ever again. Our agent said she had never received a bad report about them.....lucky us.
The problem is that quartz is even more expensive than that granite we really like.
I cannot, cannot believe how expensive quartz is here. Everyone keeps talking about how cheap it is to live here, but...
It's not, believe me. We took at least a 10% hit moving here and the quartz is more than that.
They want $2100 for a slab of Bellingham. In Iowa we had Cambria Torquay installed in three bathrooms, new sinks installed, and the plumbing redone for $2500. Trust me the sinks and labor were way over $400.

Quartz is really popular now-it's taking over granite. One reason is that quartz doesn't need the annual sealer maintenance and many people have been having problems with chipping and pitting of granite.
I am looking at both granite and quartz right now and am a bit confused since I will be selling and won't have to so the maintenance. But people want the latest & greatest.
