There are a lot of people who wear compression hose in lieu of socks, myself included. They are NOT easy to put on, especially when they are new. I would not like to think about putting them on with a bad back or other issues.
The ONLY thing worst is trying to button your top button of your shirt with a broken thumb.
Thanks to all the folks who answered my question. I am now better informed about various problems. Especially hip replacement surgery should have been a no-brainer - why I didn't think of that I don't know.
This is the retirement forum. By the time I retire I am thinking I won't need to ever wear socks again. As soon as I get home my feet are naked. Last night we went out to look at the Christmas lights and I was wearing my flip flops. I plan on spending lots of time in the sand and on the water when I retire and socks won't be an issue. LOL
I think those are awesome. They'd be a huge help for overweight people also. One of our family members is quite large and has a very difficult time bending over.
I don't get either of the first two posts. First, how is it we would need "help" putting on our socks? And second, what is quaint about socks? Am I just mentally retarded or something?
I'm working now with a physical therapist for some mobility issues and she was happy to learn about this. She knows of some other sock aids but not familiar with this gadget at all and exclaimed how beneficial it would be for many of her patients.
