Sorry friend, but we get that stuff down here too. Not very often though. It was a shocking 7 degrees this morning. It's a balmy 30 degrees now! Fortunately it doesn't last long, and when it snows, it melts in a few hours (usually).
Hang in there!
Yes I know but at least it will not freeze to a solid block of white ice if you dont move it. That is the big difference. With a 350 foot long driveway to clear that was the worst snow I have had in a very long time to clear.
It was 1° but felt like -18° this morning when I woke up. I had to go out into it to collect the rubbish barrels before they blew away. They blew over, full, yesterday evening! It's now a toasty 16° with wind chill of 2°. Sitting in the sunshine coming through my livingroom windows. Winter, love it....NOT.
Whenever it's bad weather outside I consider myself lucky in that I can choose to just stay home.
And when I know bad weather is on the horizon I can go out on the nice days ahead of it and get all my stuff done.
Being retired is such a blessing..a very hard earned one and I am thoroughly enjoying it each and every day.
I took a cut in pension to retire early and after almost 3 years am not regretting it at all and would do it again in a heartbeat.
It was 5 degrees (I know it was even colder where some of you live) when I woke up this morning and thought, it's still dark out, it's cold and I don't have to warm up the car or scrape the windshield because I'm retired and I don't have to go to work. In fact, I don't have to go outside at all today.
So, who thought of the benefit of being retired today because of the temperature where you live while you were casually having your morning coffee/tea/hot chocolate?
I sure did. 6 more months and i am outta here. Sure tired of these winters more and more. Costa Rica is on my horizon.

I thought more about how it is NOT any better down South, so why move there for a warmer winter?
Even Alabama and Louisiana and northern Florida are feeling the grip!

I suggest you move your house closer to the road.
(Are you still headed for Texas? Parts of Tennessee are nearly as cold as here today.)

Not as bad as up north.
We got up to 35 today. And I'll take that over 5 or negative any day.
It is very pleasant here today, blue skies and a little breeze, about 74 degrees. However, the summers are very, very hot here and they feel even hotter if you, like us, do not have a swimming pool to jump in and cool off. btw We are in Phoenix, originally from Chicago
