I remember dance cards very well. We took ballroom dance classes and then had those dances. I don't remember the dance cards very fondly since some had them filled and others like me did not.

In this crazy, fast paced world, does anyone remember dance cards?
City-sponsored evening dance class held in the summer for soon-to-be freshmen at high school.
Summer of '66 for me.
Waltz, foxtrot, cha cha, etc etc etc ...
I usually 'lost' my pencil on purpose.

Ghods, I hated it. I wanted to do the Freddie and the Hanky-Panky!

When we were cleaning out my grandparents house we found a little lace holder that had about 10 dance cards from my grandmother's "season". They were beautifully made. We gave them to the historical society along with some other items. Two years ago the society did a "then and now" display of dance and prom items and the cards were part of the exhibit.
