If they offer a lump sum or monthly payments you should get some help in making the decision on which to take. The monthly payment will probably not include an inflation adjustment so keep that in mind.

Maybe my next life... 32 yrs of caregiving for a disabled parent (before I was age 50 taught me to take the opportunities (and the risk) while I am young and 'able'. Tomorrow is pretty probable to not come as you might expect. (or at all).

International living last yr confirmed that (MANY 80+ yr olds who have significant health / mobility challenges struggling to travel). I fully appreciate their efforts, but doesn't look EASY! (or fun)

Type double "A" personality dad and triple "A" mom gave me a few too many 'driven genes'
no golf / cruises / lounge chairs in my future .

The best "soft pillow" was the 'heavenly' linens and comforters in our Swiss chalet during huge snowstorms.. Those three months of peaceful, silent sleep, was enough to last me for life.

WATCH / check for survivor benefits on distributions. Due to NONE... I took the money and ran (usually a good idea if your odds are low to outlive the reduced payments of distributions.)
