Yes, we've never had a headboard or footboard!

You can do that or, since they come apart easily and take up little room you could take it with you and get a head and foot board when you get there.
Most of these frames have prepared holes that accommodate adding either or both without need for the side boards.

We never had a footboard, but got rid of our headboard this winter, since it was never our decor choice (it came with the place), and it was so high it covered half the window.

I miss it a bit, since at certain times of the winter, dampness creeps in. I'd like to get another headboard, but have found very few that are low enough to fit under our window.

Who are them boy in desoto? (Don't really want leather, just curious.)

I had a metal frame that I borrowed from my sister. When I had the funds I bought a bedroom set. I love it. Tbe metal frame worked ok for sleeping, but occasionly I like to read in bed & the frame kept moving. I suppose there's a way to lock the wheels but I can't bend since the back operation & if I try to get to the floor, it's debatable how long it takes me to stand up. Have to crawl to something sturdy to pull myself up.
