I get 7 hrs sleep at night, but I wake around 7:30, have breakfast & coffee. Out for a 30-45 min bike ride by 9:30. Come back and hit the pool for 30-40 min. Then have shower, lunch and 60 min nap. Since we're in FL, I go out to the lanai and nap on the chaise lounge in the warm fresh air. Hubby has same schedule but does walk instead of bike ride.
I love my little naps, whether it was when I was retired or now that I am back to work. I generally take about an hour nap with a couple of my little fur buddies laying on my chest and legs........we call it "bonding time".
When I get home from work I will nap from maybe 6 to 7, then stay up until midnight or 1 am, and then back to sleep for the night. I only need about 6 hours sleep per night now, but the nap is my little escape.
I'll be taking one today. couldn't sleep so have been up all night. Have communion this afternoon. It's something the pastor does once a month for our building as there are so many seniors here who have trouble getting out. It'll be my 1st time & our wing is responsible for treats. Stayed up to make a loaf of cheese bread. The recipe I chose didn't work out, can still use it for bread crumbs. Tried a different recipe and judging from the smells coming from the kitchen, it's going to be a winner.
It all depends on whether I get a good nights sleep. If I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep for a couple of hours, a nap will probably be needed. Otherwise, usually not. I'm 62 and still working. Although some days, I will rest for 15 minutes, just to digest my lunch.
