Yes. Horse trekking/English riding. Took English riding lessons since in Europe that is how they ride. Although my back surgery has caused some leg weakness, maybe some day, after my beloved, bed-ridden, 15 yr old Doberman passes on, I may see if I can ride well enough again, to resume trekking. Since retirement, I've trekked Iceland, Greece, Romania, and Ireland. The barn where I took lessons required I be in a horse show in order to continue taking lessons. I had never even seen a horse show. I WON first place in both events they forced me to enter. If I go back to lessons, I'll have to find a new place since I don't want to be in any more horse shows. You never know what might catch your attention in retirement. I was thinking about taking up golf since that is where all the men are.
Walked to the gas station/store twice today. Twice I've walked the block & 1/2 in one day!
Not a joke. I've only been able to walk there once prior to today due to back operation.
I live in a 55+. I think just about everyone picks up a sport when they get here. Pickle ball and bocce are popular here. For some it is tennis, bowling, softball, or golf. We have a lot of choices.
Jousting in the political forum. A jab here. A jab there. A little jab'll do ya. There are no husbands, children or parents to fight with, my neighbors seem pleasant and I don't walk well enough to take up kick boxing so it's the next best thing.
