Maybe this has been asked already. Just curious at what age, and why, you came to the realization, if ever(!) that you were "really old"? And did you ever look back 10 years after that and say "Well, I guess I wasn't as old as I thought!"? I'm only 57, and certainly don't feel old, and know quite a few retirees in their mid 70s that still don't think of themselves as old. I've only known 10 people well in to their 80s and some had totally given up on life and others were too busy to get old until their bodies gave out.

On the inside, I'm still a kid. I see her sparkle in my eyes. Eyes are good. They don't change. She's still in there. On the outside, I'm there already. 65. I think I'm a damn good 65 but nonetheless, Damn I'm really old!

I have never felt "old." I'm 73 and feel (most of the time) pretty good, optimistic, willing to take on new adventures.

I will admit, however, I recently had a realization of my age and what that means (to me). It was a little bit of a shock when I realized I have lived most of my life already and not done a lot of the things I thought I might do. If I'm going to do at least some of those things, I need to get going with it. A lot of lost years waiting for things to happen that never did. A terrible waste that I did not realize was a waste until now.

This is a good answer because it's really all relative just like the cartoon that keeps appearing on facebook, "I wish I looked like I did back when I thought I was fat."

Has to be when you fill out an online form that asks for year of birth.
When you have to scroll 10 pages to the bottom to find yours, that's old!

I'm 55 and can feel getting older. Different body aches mostly.

Mostly wanting to shake younger people and make them come to their senses, lol.

The first time was briefly, on the day I realized that I qualified for the Senior menu at a local restaurant, age 60. Since then I have remained active and haven't felt old, but I suspect that the next milestone in 2.5 years, 65, will be a strong reminder.

60. It seemed to me to be a age that mean senior citizen.
