Although I sold off all my track stuff my S2000 is still an active hobby... Over 15 years and I have no intention of replacing it (although I have replaced major components). Top down and fast is still fun.

We still have 2 daily drivers, one restored vintage vehicle, one vintage motorcycle (DH's), one late model motorcycle (mine) and 2 vintage Honda trail bikes. So for us, yes. We belong to our village's vintage vehicle club. Membership in the club is over 100 couples. We also have a motorcycle club, sports car enthusiast club, and a Corvette Club in the village, so I would say for folks around here, yes cars are still important.

We need a good truck or SUV to pull our 20' Celebrity boat. Our Dodge Durango SLT does a great job of that.

Me too! (Three?). I lived in Rhode Island for 65 years, and it's no fun without a boat, there. Now I'm in Maine, in "Lakeville USA" and am out fishing all summer. I have 6 grandkids, too...and the 3 oldest can all run the boat, which means even when I get old and decrepit, I'll have somebody to go out on the lake with!

I can't relate to this at all. I foresee a "git 'er done" attitude when I retire. No mud, no glory. My retirement truck will be an ugly beast, powerful and practical, with all the required gear for getting things done safely.

Me too (four?). I am into boats as well. I have tried kayaking, canoeing and sailing but like rowing/sculling small shells the best. I am out on the river rowing/sculling every morning (5:30am weekdays and 7:00am weekends). I mostly scull in the single shell but will do double, quad or sweep rowing in a group (4+ or 8+).

Me neither. My car is a necessity, always will be. I bought a 2014 Hyundai Elentra GT last year for that little bit of extra room for putting things like my lawnmower in when it's needed service. I live outside the city so need it to go shopping too.

I DO understand the toys though.

Yes ;we had gone to a car and a truck then a car and mini van. Basically last year we bought two trucks from missing and realizing we used the truck in past most for everything with our life style.

I still have the affliction. Like to go fast (on the track) and ride large in my Diesel truck. Spend way to much on my toys but I'm probably always gonna want something nice to drive. No more motorcycles for me.

My wife has a Toyota Highlander and she loves it.... me? I hate it. I drive a 02' Ford Excursion Diesel and love it. No it ain't quiet and it ain't plush but it can tow 11K and is a dream to drive for long trips. I enjoy working on it and making it unique. Attachment 153490

In addition I've started building a Cobra kit car. Keeps me off the streets and my hands and brain occupied. Gets me out from in front of the idiot box and off the couch in the man cave. This isn't mine but this is the goal. Attachment 153491

Probably not a girl thread but my wifey loves to ride large when we hit the road or take the boat somewhere.
She's gonna love tooling around town with the top down one day... and for those of you who love driving the winding and twisty roads in the mountains... this is the one.

At 62... Am I out of my mind or what? Let's see your rides! We can still be crazy!
90 GMC. I bought it new in 1990. 400,000 miles. Bucket seats; sunroof; 5.7 Liter; 4X4
I'll be 70 next month.
