For the leg cramps, zinc works for a lot of people. It's something we need as we get older.
Our old time remedy when you got sick with a cold was that my mother would drag out the really warm down filled comforter and cover you up with it. Then you drank hot soup and the heat was turned up. You were supposed to "sweat it out." I told that to a European friend one time and he said that's what they used to do too.
