Actually, believe it or not, I think I drink more now than I did when I was younger! I remember that I was a real "bottle sucker" when it came to beer years ago. I could go to a nightclub and be fine with slowly drinking one beer, perhaps two, but that was it. During the times I was unemployed, I'd really be a "bottle sucker" because I didn't want to spend out the money for a second beer.

After meeting my wife, we took an overnight trip to a nightclub that I knew. We had Coors Light and shots of Jose Cuervo and was able to make it back to our motel room. Thank God it was only a mile away from the nightclub! We both passed out on the bed. Sure wasn't the kind of night we thought it would be...LOL.
At our wedding reception, we had Coor's Light and shots of "rotgut"/low brand Tequila. The really good Tequila just cost too much. Even with eating some food, I got pretty wasted and passed out in my BIL vehicle right next to my new bride. MIL, BIL, SIL, Best Man and Maid-of-Honor thought it was hilarious.

After almost 15 years of marriage, we are still "partying"! Not like we did on that overnight trip or our wedding reception, but we still "party". A good/stiff margarita, Bud Light and a good shot of 1800 tequila sometimes. Mexican dinner out just doesn't seem good without a margarita and watching NFL games out or at home aren't nearly as good without a Bud Light or two. Most of the time we will have a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, bottle of 1800 Tequila and a 12-pack of Bud Light in the frig. We are both Diabetic II, but just don't drink enough to show high blood sugar on our glucose checks. During the winter months, even here in Florida, we can go days without having any alcohol at all.

Just because we are in our mid 60's sure doesn't mean that we can't have fun! LOL

My tastes have changed, I've become a "beer snob" only drinking craft beers. Back in the college days it was dime drafts and dollar pitchers of who remembers what~

I now enjoy a glass of wine with special meals, girls night out or while on vacation. The beers are reserved for pizzas, burgers and barbecues.

My husband is a home brewer and makes wine as well~we're always well stocked.

We are retired in SWF on the water and its always....... 5 O'Clock Somewhere Heavy Drinkers? NO.. Regular imbibers? Yes.. Would you not have a drink sitting out by the pool or out on the dock, in Tee Shirts and Shorts on just about any day of the year? Sure You Would... For sure you would sitting with us at Anchor feeling a balmy breeze, watching the sun, setting into the Gulf.. Excuse me I think I hear James Taylor and I can use a re-fill ...... I think I'll tune up my old six string....

I had a beer the other day - a hot afternoon and I'd been working in the yard and it just sounded good. It was, too! I keep a few beers in the fridge but rarely have one. Did my share of beer drinking back in the day though.

Piña coladas are my drink of choice when we're in Mexico but I never fix one at home. Too much like a smoothie.

I saw a study on people that live over 100 and they all had one thing in common. They all drank booze of some sort. It is what it is. i am drinking more now as I got older. So is my dad that is well into his 80's and drives himself over 1200 miles each year he migrates to Florida. i think I will stick to my family's proven formula.

A couple of weeks ago I tried to remember the last time I had a hangover & couldn't, probably close to 30 years ago. That's a good thing.

I have a couple of glasses of wine maybe 2X/week, or trade one of those nights for a couple of gin & tonics instead. When the weather gets colder as it is now I transition from the gin to Jamesons, maybe 3-4 evenings a month I will have a drink of "the cure".

Beer is drunk very seldom & usually accompanies spicy food: Thai, Italian, Mexican. I rarely have more than 2-3 craft beers at most, Sam Adams/Brooklyn/Dogfish Head IPA.

The Guinness in Ireland is not to be missed & I like to go to a local pub whenever possible & have a couple of pints when I visit, but vacations in general seem to encourage a little more imbibing than usual.

I could probably live without alcohol, if medical necessity called for it, but I would be gobsmacked if I had to forgo my morning coffee.
