DH and I told each other that we loved each other this morning. We were laughing about something, and then we hugged and told each other. We are telling each other more now than we ever.

We went to yoga on the beach this morning again. In yoga some poses require a focus point, anything eye level, and in the studios I've gone to it's usually a picture, an object, etc. To have the horizon as my focal point is incredible. To feel the sun/breeze and hear the waves is so peaceful and relaxing.

Yoga changed how I approached life in a positive way. A good teacher turned into a bad one for me though and I have not been to a formal class in five years or more. DH has gone every week during all these years at a different studio, but I hadn't let go of my bitterness and turned my back on it. It hasn't been a bone of contention between us, just something he did on his own while I chose to do other things.

He started going to beach yoga here by himself this year. To his surprise and delight, I began going with him to the classes. I'm just as surprised as he is at the change of heart and healing.

Isn't yoga amazing, Jean?

I had a perfect day today. Leisurely breakfast and lunch at home. Then DH and I went for a walk by the river (it was 70 here---a rarity for December). Then we went to an independent coffee place, which was excellent. Then to a yoga studio for an hour of meditation with Tibetan bowls. This was followed by dinner at a Korean food court. Than an hour of the type of quality TV we like: a British series about an American in turn of last century London who started the department store Selfridges.

No complaints. Just gratitude that I got to live today exactly as I wanted, feeling good mentally and physically.

I find myself amazed and exceedingly blessed when my dear husband tells me when he looks at me he still sees the beautiful young woman he saw when we first met so long ago. And when he tells me I am beautiful when we first wake up in the morning- when I couldn't possibly look worse, I don't think.

So I tell him I love him too, and tell him he better not get that cataract surgery he probably needs.

Well, this will sound weird, I'm sure but...I went over to my lakefront lot to fix the rain barrel and discovered around 50 black vultures roosting in the trees and walking around the lot. The dog next door was trying to catch them (which was funny - the vultures just kept walking off out of the dog's leash range), and the vultures didn't even fly away. I got some great pics to send my sister. BTW, I think vultures are COOL, so this was a great day for me. Oh, and I fixed the danged rain barrel too, so that was the cherry on top.

Having a great time with very young grandsons visiting. Thus far, a daily thing has been to have little grandson sitting on my lab while we watch a YouTube video of "This Old Man" together. I sing along and get him to clap hands. Feeling like a blessed man when we're doing this together. Note: bear with the ad, it's worth it and I'm sure will bring back many memories.

We get to go visit our new twin grand daughters next week and help take care of things. They also have one just under three so it will be a busy time for sure but a great Christmas gift.

Enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends, the kind of moment where you know right then and there that you're making a memory for a lifetime.

I'm happy it's the week before Christmas and there is no snow (when we are usually blanketed in ice and snow). I still see green grass! I much prefer the color green to white
