Got a call from my sister and BIL yesterday - they were returning home from a trip and would be passing close by to our home - so we met them for lunch and had a great talk. Will have a longer visit with them after the holidays. I'm so happy that they now live only 3 hours away from us, so we get to visit back and forth.

I'm happy to be in good health and looking forward to some time in the sun very soon. You frequently hear people talk about their notions of taking time to stop and smell the flowers but it's so seldom actually part of their everyday consciousness to note their good fortune. I've been making a point to remind myself and my wife of the fact of our lives being lived in comfort and contentment.

I should add that the story is about joy in life, no matter what situation we find ourselves in.

Twin grandkids, almost 3, decorating our tree right now. All the ornaments are on one side, clumped together. When they take a nap I'm determined to leave it that way. (:

I watched Mary Poppins on TV the other night. Remembered most of the songs but the story was all new to me (it had been so long I forgot). Thoroughly enjoyable.
