I tend to make resolutions around my birthday, which is New Year's eve. I take some time between Christmas and that day to think about the past year, what went well and what didn't, and what I can do coming up to address what didn't. I try to focus on steps, rather than outcome, because thinking of outcome is too daunting. For instance, I want to read much more this coming year, but first I need to change optometrists and find one who will get the prescription right.
