When I was 7 years old, my parents dumped me and my brothers at a movie (Walt Disney's Cinderella) on Xmas eve so they could drink with their friends.
Upon our arrival home - about 8 pm - all the Santa presents were under the tree. Mom & Dad and their friends gleefully announced that Santa had come early.
The j-i-g was up. Even at that tender age, I knew better than to believe that drunken crock.

I always knew Santa was fiction but never let on that I knew. Why would I kill the goose that laid the golden eggs?
