I was suddenly retired June 2016 and had no idea what to do. I embarked on a series of 8 vacations since then to help me deal with my fate. Along the way I went to Community College in 2017-18 and earned a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second language (had to take 4 8 week courses). I tutor an adult Arabic student twice a week; and also lead English Conversation drop in Class once a week. I also did "Teacher Assistant" for ESOL classes.

All teaching is done on a volunteer basis--which I prefer.

I take two classes at community college twice a week--Beginner Swimming and Water Fitness--back to back on Monday and Wednesday. Next semester I'll take water fitness again and something else.

This leaves me only Fri- Sun with "nothing to do" each day. That works for me.

I highly recommend taking personal interest classes. You don't need a credential to tutor an adult student. Check with your local library or county Literacy organization.

That's great BabyJuly, love to see people steering their own ship to be where they want. Good stuff.
