If we are eligible to collect military retirement at age 60(Reserve/ Air Guard}, and do not take it until a later age say 63 is their any advantage to doing this? Will the pay be any greater or will it be the same as it was if you took it at age 60? Thankyou

I don't see any advantage. I see problems if you are married and had planned on a survivor annuity and you die before applying. If you don't need the money, just put it in an interest bearing account. But I wouldn't delay. After six years you lose a day of pay for every day over the six year mark.

I don't think you can delay it. Rather I should say it this way. It will not pay you more if that is what you are talking about. It will reimburse you to your age 60 if you should have applied and didn't for whatever reason but that is all.
