I wanted to give everyone a heads up that today's WSJ Encore section has a number of interesting articles on retirement. If you haven't had a chance to check it out, it's a good read. The lead article on "It's Time to Rethink The Bucket-List Retirement" was particularly interesting.

Sorry, but the last person I would take advice from is a shrink/guru/life coast/counselor/psychologist/Psychatrist etc. These people claim to be experts and can tell people how to have a happy life. In general, they can do nothing of the kind. In fact, these people historically have a high suicide rate. Look at DR Phil, overweight, diabetic and already divorced once/twice? When I took I got my undergrad BS in Psychology in college, the general joke was that half of the students and profs got into the field for self help.

We had one class on how different famous shrinks did therapy. You wouldn't how dumb some of them were. Same with the typical theories that they had on individual Psychology. Absolutely useless.

Its your life, if you want advice, buy a book or ask some friends. You'll probably get much saner advice.
