“We could see the end of Social Security as soon as 2016, and there is nothing President Obama, Congress or any other government agency can do to stop it.”
2016... The End of Social Security (Leaked Evidence Stumps Obama, Stuns Retirees) - The Sovereign Investor

Retirees should be aware of scare tactics such as these. When reading the texts, look for "keywords" that will tip you off to scams, like "leaked..."

Quote:
Unfortunately, several leaked reports now confirm that these fears will become an ugly reality, very soon.
For propaganda pieces involving Social Security, you'll often see a statement to this effect...

Quote:
The problem is twofold: Our government tapped into Social Security savings...
Usually after the introductory nonsense, you eventually come to the "track record" plea....

Quote:
Before you dismiss Davidson’s warning, know that he has a remarkable track record....
Finally, you come to the "evidence" which is often erroneously characterized as "irrefutable"...

Quote:
Davidson’s new video is causing a controversy, not just because of what he says, but because the evidence he provides is irrefutable (he uses over 20 unquestionable charts to prove his point).
[emphasis mine]

You kind of get the idea by now.

Seniors should avoid buying into these scams, or making financial decisions (or any other decisions) based upon the "information" such articles or web-sites may contain. Just beware that sites such as The Sovereign Investor Daily are generally not legitimate.

Anybody in their right mind understands that unilaterally shutting off SS benefits to current recipients would be a national economic, social, and political disaster. I'm not saying it can't happen, but if it does, we have arrived at the total economic collapse of the nation. SS won't be the only casualty. All income and asset classes will be affected.

and all we have to do is pay to subscribe to his monthly newsletter and he will share his latest scam with us, I wonder what it is this time? pimping penny stocks or buying gold? Davidson has been pulling this crap for over 20 years, you'd think by now he'd be in jail.

Good warning, Mircea. Sovereign Investor Daily isn't alone in spreading hysteria and bilking people. The thing is that these scams often buy advertising on legitimate web sites that a lot of people frequent. CNN and CNN Money allow these ads ... and they look to the unwary or the gullible as legitimate news/economic info articles. All they are is links to crap like the article you linked.

Thanks Mircea for sharing and spreading the news. I think the vast majority of us here are good but this forum attracts a lot of lurkers and newbies. If they want the real poop this is the place they should come. Yeah we don't all agree. Yeah we might argue a bit. But like good people do we allow each other to have view points that are different and we point out the opposing view point and debunk absolutely false statements and phishing.

There are naive, ignorant people in every generation, just as there are savvy people in every generation.
