We have finally made it through all the stuff we had to do to our house. It's been a while since the big job was finished and we have started to get out more. A lot more. Granted we live in Las Vegas and entertainment opportunities abound.

It has gotten to the point that we have to consider whether or not to do something.

We take a Bridge lesson Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Play Bridge with friends Tuesday after the lesson, and Saturday in a beginners group.

My wife is learning Mahjongg Fridays, and has a cooking get together with three other ladies once a month.

We go out to dinner a couple of times a month, go to shows a couple of times a month, and get together for dinner at friends a couple of times a month.

We've been here since the beginning of November 2014 and haven't gambled in a casino yet. Something we used to do when we vacationed here every couple of years. Funny how things change. I am getting antsy to play some poker or Blackjack, though.

Tek_Freek. Glad you finally got your home finished. The last pictures I saw of it, I thought it looked very nice. I remember that fantastic master bedroom closet.

I don't think most people who live in Las Vegas gamble all that much. Just like living anywhere there is a big attraction. It is used more by visitors. But there is certainly a lot going on in Vegas for sure and you don't have to gamble to enjoy other entertainment. I would have chosen one of the retirement communities were it not for my son living with me and inheriting the house when I'm gone. Also, they don't have tall fences in these communities which I need for large dog who needs to run.

Congratulations on finding a lifestyle you enjoy.

I am always amazed at the differences in interests that people have. I had thought about joining a chess club, but am not much at playing games. They seem designed to kill time and usually just bore me in an hour or so. To each his own.

Maybe do some sightseeing? Visit Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, Grand Canyon, Sedona, and some of the other attractions in Northern Arizona and Utah. Go to Red Rock Canyon before it gets too hot - lots of hikers and walkers. Visit Mount Charleston (20 degrees cooler). Explore the Southwest. I would think Las Vegas might have interesting festivals although it could be mostly conventions. Look at community college offerings.

Instead of play cards, I would have spent some time in Death Valley NP. Too late for this year.

Hey Tek, I was just thinking about you the other day and wondered how things were going. Glad to see you are finally able to do things other than work on the house! Sounds like you are having a great time. We are having a blast in Delaware......I also play mahjong and play once a week with a larger group and another time with a small group of more experienced players. DH has started volunteering at the USAF Air Mobility Command museum at the Dover AFB.

Believe it or not we are still doing things in our house and it was brand new last year! April 13th will be our 1 year anniversary there. We added a deck and EZE Breeze windows and DH put in a bunch of extra insulation in the attic and is now framing in part of it to make it a conditioned area that is just off the loft.

Oh, and our daughter is getting married this year, so we have been busy with that. I'm currently in CT as we went for her first dress fitting on Saturday. Take care and have a great life!
