I have been trying to get answer to this. I just turned 65 in January & my wife turned 62 in February .. she has not worked enough to qualify for SS. Everything I have seen sounds like i must be 66 to take advantage before the new changes take place and she needed to be 62 before end of 2015. Anyone tell me if I am correct? Also could she draw a spousal before I start drawing when I reach 66 next January? ... thanks

restricted application is the only thing left after this month for those with their own work record if they are 62 or older in 2016 .. everything else is off the table .
in your wife's case since she has no benefit of her own ,all she can get is 1/2 yours when you file and collect, she gets nothing before you collect .
