That does seem like an inordinate amount of posts. I was surprised to see the age of the OP (Older Poster? )

Seriously, are you compiling information for a book? I notice you come on here when you seem to run out of questions that have been answered. If this is your intention, I want a portion of the proceeds.

OTOH I can still work circles around a lot of my younger co-workers so that's a plus.

On my job I have to ID a lot of people every day. Some of them really surprise me. Like the 40+ year old lady who looked like 25 and I thought the two young men with her were her younger brothers! lol I tell people that the older I get the younger they look! Next week they are all gonna look 15!

I can, and do, also "work circles" around my co workers, younger and older. The only thing that makes me feel kinda "old" is when I think about the ages of my kids, grkids, etc.. All my kids are now in their 50s, turning 52 to 58 this year. I have nine grandkids ages 19 to 36. My youngest grandkid graduated high school last spring. I have eight great grandkids ages 3 to 15. Oldest great grandkid is a freshman in high school. I can't imagine how all of those people got so OLD! I mean, I'm ONLY 35, right??? LOL It's possible I will live long enough to get to enjoy a great great grandkid or two!

That's one that always 'gets' me! I'm thinking of something that might have happened five or six years ago and then realize it's been 30 years. I think "That can't be right!", but it is. Sigh.

Oh yeah, that too. I have a folder in my Favorites titled "Old Friends...Gone". It gets longer and longer. So many of them were people I've known over the years, lost track of when I/they moved and I found obits when I did a Google search. So sad and most were way younger than me. Also all the family members that have 'gone on'. Too many of them as well.

And that's sad, too. The way we oldsters talk to ourselves.

No, not sad. We just enjoy intelligent conversations!

I created the account five years ago but only asked a few regional questions until maybe three years ago? Maybe a little longer? My posting has increased dramatically lately. Things are moving extremely slowly at my new employer and I post more than I had been. I also don't have as much in common with these colleagues so we don't talk any about anything not related to business.

Completely agreed. When I was 24 back in 2010 and graduating, professors were extremely overoptimistic about labor market prospects to the point I'd call them being fraudulent. There was virtually no instruction on how to perform a nationalized job search then. I think that is part of the reason so many people got left behind. I'm intelligent, reasonably technical, and a bit ballsy, which is why I've done as well as I have. Had I been an average person from my hometown, I'd be doing well to make $15/hr.

I was struggling a bit to put a 50 lb sack of dog food from my shopping cart to my car once. I can do it but a nice young strong guy saw me and asked if he could do it.
