Yeah, I am at least a few years out from pulling the plug, but, I am thinking about when to retire and how to handle finances as I approach it.

I don't relate to these "stages" at all. I have been retired almost 6 years. Never felt I had to reinvent myself. I am still me... just doing different things now.

I've notified my employer and started training my replacement but have not reached the company picnic and handshakes. That should be next year.

since I just retired this year I guess it would have to be honeymoon phase. Is there an end to that? I certainly hope not. I am waiting on the wife to retire but no hurry on that either. If she can hold out and work one more year we can draw pension to cover her net and with no mortgage it will make life much easier. Then in a few years God willing we can begin our world traveler phase.

It'll be 5 years next month for me and I'm still in the honeymoon phase. Is it supposed to end?
